5.1. Warnings and guidelines for use
Whenever possible, it is advisable to place the vehicle
in a shaded position (e.g. under a canopy, bridge or
building) so as to limit cab overheating.
It is a good idea to start the conditioner before
switching off the cab's air conditioning system; this is
to prevent the cab from overheating.
When the temperature inside the cab exceeds 35°C,
it is advisable to switch on the vehicle conditioner to
reduce it.

It is advisable to keep windows closed to prevent warm
air and humidity from entering the cab.
It is advisable to reduce the use of other on-board
equipment requiring the vehicle power supply - such
as lights, TV, radio etc. - to a minimum in order to allow
the conditioner to operate for as long as possible.
The conditioner is equipped with a device to protect the
battery, which prevents it from losing too much charge
and becoming flat to the extent that it will compromise
vehicle starting (with efficient batteries). This device
switches off the compressor and fans when battery
power drops to below a pre-set threshold level. This
situation is signalled by the indicator light (6) on the
control panel (Fig. 1), which will switch on. Never fit
any other protective device to the conditioner supply
line, with the exception of a fuse at the start of the
power line.
The conditioner has a protective device to switch its
compressor off when the vehicle cab is tilted. As well
as switching off the compressor, it also switches off
the fans. This situation is signalled by an error code
E001 on the control panel display (3) (Fig. 1) . Twenty
minutes after the cab is back in position, the error code
E001 will disappear and the conditioner will resume
normal operation.
