weights are to be applied may be selected by the
user according to the specific shape of the rim.
However, bear in mind that it is always prefer-
able to select balancing planes as far apart as
possible in order to reduce the quantity of the
weight to be applied; if the distance between
the two planes is less than 37 mm (1.5"), the A
64 message is displayed.
- Select the first side to be balanced.
- Rotate the wheel until the central element of
the corresponding position indicator lights
up.
- apply the balancing weight in the position
indicated by the laser point directly inside
the rim in the case of an adhesive weight, or
at 12 o'clock for a spring weight or an adhesive
weight, but outside the rim.
- Repeat the operations listed for the second
side of the wheel.
Application of spring balancing
weights
- Select the plane where the balancing weight
is to be applied.
- Turn the wheel until the central part of the
corresponding position indicator lights up
or press the centre of the round indicator to
start the automatic position search.
- Place the clip weight in the 12 o'clock position.
Application of adhesive balanc-
ing weights
- Select the plane where the balancing weight
is to be applied.
- Turn the wheel until the central part of the
corresponding position indicator lights up
or press the centre of the round indicator to
start the automatic position search.
- The internal laser pointer automatically comes
out indicating the exact position for applying
the adhesive weight.
- Apply the adhesive weight as indicated in
the figure.

The rim surface must be perfectly clean to make
the weight stick efficiently to the rim. If neces-
sary, clean the surface using suitable cleansing
products.
Note: the adhesive weights outside the rim folder
in the ALU3 and ALU4 balancing programmes
should be applied manually in the 12 o' clock
position.
"Shift Planes" programme
(available only with ALU1 and
ALU2 programmes)
This function is automatically enabled when an
ALU1 or ALU2 programme is selected. It modi-
fies the selected positions for the application of
adhesive weights, so as to ensure perfect balanc-
ing of the wheel using commercially available
adhesive weights (i.e. multiples of five grammes).
The accuracy of the machine is thereby improved,
avoiding rounding-off or cutting the weights to be
applied to come closer to the actual unbalance
values. For this reason, the secondary control
key is not enabled
The modified positions, where the adhesive
weights are to be applied, are identified by the
user according to the information given by the
wheel balancer.
