MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Safety precautions
8.1
Carefully read the instructions provided in chapter "I. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS" on page 25.
Periodic maintenance
8.2
Besides carrying out maintenance activities according to the frequency speciied in the table, a general inspec-
tion must be carried out on the machine at least once a year or when a "Maintenance warning" is displayed by a
Qualiied Technician.
Component
Type of operation
Keep checking the heating unit pressure which must be between 0.08 and
PRESSURE GAUGE
0.14 MPa (0.8 and 1.4 bar).
Periodically check the water pressure when cofee is being dispensed:
PRESSURE GAUGE
check the pressure indicated on the gauge, which must be in the range of
0.8 to 0.9 MPa (8 and 9 bar).
Check the condition of the ilters. Check for any damage on the edge of
FILTERS and PORTAFILTERS
the ilters and check whether any cofee grounds settle in the cofee cup
and replace ilters and/or ilter holders, as required.
Check the ground cofee dose (between 6 and 7 grams per time); check
the degree of grinding. The grinders must always have sharp cutting
edges. Their deterioration is indicated by the presence of too much
GRINDER-DOSER
powder in the grounds. We recommend calling the Qualiied Technician
to replace the lat grinders after every 400/500 kg of cofee. For conical
grinders, replace every 800/900 kg.
WATER FILTER
Replace the water ilter cartridge or regenerate the water softener as
WATER SOFTENER
often as speciied by the manufacturer.
We recommend that you call out the Technical Assistance at least once
HEATING UNIT
every three months to replace the water in the heating unit.
We recommend contacting Technical Assistance at least every 3
DRIP TRAY
months in order to clean the drip tray.
Component problems highlighted in grey require the machine to be switched of and one of the Qualiied Technicians to be called out.
Maintenance after a short period of machine inactivity
8.3
"Short period of machine inactivity" refers to a period of time exceeding one working week.
If the machine is switched back on after this period, a Qualiied Technician must replace all the water inside the
hydraulic circuits as indicated in para. 6.5.
Furthermore, all periodic maintenance operations must be carried out, see the previous paragraph.
