3) Turn the steam knob (Fig. 01-01A pos. 1).
The amount of steam dispensed depends on
how far the tap is opened: the further the tap
is opened, the greater the amount of steam
dispensed.
4) Once you have finished dosing the steam,
close the tap, remove the container holding
the liquid and immediately clean any residue
from the steam wand with a wet cloth.
Warning: Do not touch the steam wand
directly because it is hot.
DE model with automatic steam wand
The machine is also equipped with automatic
steam delivery with temperature sensor (Fig. 01-
01A; pos. 4a); to activate it, press the button (Fig.
06-13; pos. g). The flow of steam can be inter-
rupted before it reaches the programmed temper-
ature by pressing the same key again. Keeping
the button pressed (Fig. 06-13; pos. g) the steam
is continuous until it is released.
To prevent the liquid from being sucked back into
the boiler, discharge the steam using the key (Fig.
06-13; pos. g).
To change the "texture" of the air bubbles present
in the liquid to be heated, adjust the adjustment
screw (small bubbles closed - large bubbles open)
(Fig. 12) starting from the open condition (large
bubbles) and gradually reducing the air flow until
the desired "texture" is reached.
To change the programming of the temperature,
follow the instructions indicated in paragraph 5.7
of this booklet.
Warning: To prepare a cappuccino, it is recom-
mended to use milk at a temperature of 5°C.

6.6 Turning off the machine
1) Close the water supply tap.
2) Turn the switch (Fig. 01-01A; pos. 10) in pos.

3) Put the omnipolar power switch in idle position

4) Release the pressure from the steam tap.
6.7 Dose programming (DE Model)
To adjust the doses of DE machine, do the fol-
lowing:
press the continuous delivery/programming/stop
button (Fig 06-13; pos.f), keep it pressed until the
corresponding LED starts to flash intermittently,
signalling (the machine must not deliver water)
the start of the programming function which has
a duration of 4 seconds (DE Model), 30 seconds
(DE Model with automatic steam wand) if a key to
be programmed is not pressed.
Activate the delivery of any key on the keypad (Fig
06-13; pos. a-b-c-d, g) to start the programming
that will be saved when the key is selected again
to stop delivery.
Repeat these procedures for all keys to pro-
gramme the desired doses.
By programming the first group on the left, the
settings will be automatically transmitted to the
other groups. To carry out different programming
between one group and another, programme
them individually.
To programme the automatic steam wand (Fig.
01-01A; pos. 4a) insert it into the liquid to be
heated, press the button (Fig. 06-13; pos. g) and
wait for the temperature to reach the desired val-
ue; press the button again (Fig. 06-13; pos. g) to
confirm the programming.
Warning: The DE models guarantee
the programming of the volume of cof-
fee per dose. The automatic steam
wand ensures that the programmed
temperature is reached.
