Fitting the spark deflector & eye
shield assembly (Fig . 3)
Required tool (not included):
Philips head screwdriver
1. Loosen and remove the 'bolt - locking
washer - flat washer' set from the grinder
assembly.
2. Align the spark deflector with the mounting
holes on the top of the wheel guard.
3. Insert the 'bolt - locking washer - flat
washer' sets through the spark deflector
and thread the bolts into the mounting
holes on wheel guard.
4. Tighten the bolts sufficiently to support the
spark deflector but still allowing the spark deflector to slide up and down.
5. Slide the spark deflector to within a maximum of 1/16" (1.6 mm) from the wheel. Rotate the
wheel one full revolution by hand to ensure the wheel does not contact the spark deflector.
6. Repeat the above steps on the opposite side.
Adjusting and fitting the eye
shields (Fig . 4)
The eye shields can be installed on either
side of the tool. For detail grinding, it is
recommended to place the magnifying eye
shield on the right side.
1. Loosen and remove the locking knob and
bolt from the eye shield.
2. Align the hole in the eye shield with the
holes on the spark deflector bracket.
3. Insert the bolt through the spark deflector
bracket and the eye shield, and then
tighten the locking knob to secure the eye
shield onto the spark deflector bracket.
4. Repeat the above steps on the opposite
side.
