Wheel Replacement
Replace the worn wheel when the
recommended gaps between the spark
deflector or the work rest and the wheel are no
longer possible to be maintained.
Make sure that the replacement wheel is rated
at the no load speed of the grinder or higher.
Required tools (not included):
Phillips head screwdriver
Wood wedge
24mm open-end wrench or adjustable
wrench
1. Unplug the grinder.
2. Loosen and remove the 3 bolts together
with the side wheel guard (Fig. 11).
3. To prevent wheel rotation, place a wood
wedge between the grinding wheel and the
work rest.
4. Remove the locking nut (see note below for
correct direction of rotation), outer flange
and the wheel.
NOTE: The wheel on the left-hand side
of the bench grinder has a left-hand
thread and is unscrewed in a clockwise
direction . The wheel on the right-hand
side of the bench grinder has a right-
hand thread and is unscrewed in a
counterclockwise direction
(Fig. 12a & 12b).
5. Fit the replacement wheel and outer flange.
Ensure the wheel and outer flange are
properly seated on the spindle shaft.
(Fig. 13)
6. Reinstall the grinding wheel nut and tighten
the outer flange. (See the note above
regarding the direction of rotation of the
nut).
7. Reinstall the side wheel guard together
with the 3 bolts.
8. Remount the washers and the nuts, and
tighten the wheel guard in place.
9. Re-adjust the work rest, spark deflector,
and eye shield.
