Fitting the work rests (Fig . 5)
NOTE: The work rests are right and left
handed. Follow the diagrams to ensure the
correct work rest is fitted to the correct side.
1. Place the work rest in the correct position
against the wheel guard as shown.
2. Thread the locking knob through the
washer and work rest into the hole in the
wheel guard. Tighten the locking knob
sufficiently to support the work rest but still
allowing the work rest to slide in and out.
3. Slide the work rest to within a maximum of
1/16" (1.6 mm) from the wheel. Rotate the
wheel one full revolution by hand to ensure
the wheel does not contact the work rest.
4. Tighten the locking knob firmly.
5. Repeat the above steps on the opposite side.
Fitting coolant tray (Fig . 6)
Place coolant tray over the coolant tray bracket
then firmly push the tray down onto the bracket
to secure it in place.
Permanent mounting of bench
grinder to workbench (Fig . 7)
If bench grinder is to be used in a permanent
location, it should be fastened securely to a
firm supporting surface such as a stand or
workbench using the two mounting holes.
1. Each of the two mounting holes should be
bolted securely using 5/16" (8 mm) bolts
(not included). The bolt lengths should
be at least 3-1/2" (90 mm) long for the
workbench that is 1-1/2" (38 mm) thick.
2. Locate and mark where the grinder is to be
mounted.
3. Drill two 3/8" (9 mm) diameter holes
through the workbench.
