WARNING
For your own safety, turn the switch OFF (O) and
remove the plug from the power source before
maintaining your saw.
GENERAL
An occasional coat of paste wax on the work table will
allow the wood being cut to glide smoothly across the
work surface.
MOTOR
1. If the power cord is worn, cut or damaged in any
way, have it replaced immediately by authorized
electrician.
2. Do not attempt to oil the motor bearings or service
the motor internal parts.
REPLACING CARBON BRUSHES (FIG. Y, Z)
To inspect or replace brushes, first unplug the saw.
1. Remove the left side cover (1) by loosening the two
screws (2).
2. Remove the black plastic cap (3) on the side of the
motor (4).
3. Carefully remove the spring-loaded cap.
4. Pull out the brush and replace.
5. Replace for the other side by the hole (5-Fig. Z) on
the right side of the scroll saw.
6. Tighten the cap snugly, but do not overtighten.
NOTE: When reinstalling the same brushes, put them
back in the way they came out. This will avoid a break-
in period that reduces motor performance and increases
wear.
