8.2. Charging process (mode: plug & play)
To charge a vehicle, follow these steps:
1. Connect the ends of the cable to the charger and the
vehicle.
2. Check that the front LED on the equipment turns from
green to solid blue to indicate that charging has begun
successfully.
3. When the vehicle is completely charged, the LED ring will
begin to blink blue.
4. To finish charging: first disconnect the charger from the
car, following manufacturer instructions. (It is important
to follow this order, if not the charger will not unblock the
cable.)
5. Disconnect the connector from the charger side.
8.3. Charging process (using an APP)
Charging can be managed through an APP connected to an OCPP server.
In this case, follow the instructions indicated in the APP.
9. TROUBLESHOOTING
Problems with the equipment must be reviewed and resolved by properly
trained, qualified personnel, following the security warnings given above.
9.1. Alarms
The error code will be shown on the screen and sent to the OCPP server.

10. MAINTENANCE
– Maintenance of the equipment must be performed by properly trained and
qualified personnel.
– Maintenance personnel must be properly protected against the risk of
accidents caused by direct and indirect contact.
– Simon S.A.U recommends that maintenance be performed annually.
10.1. General equipment cleaning and check
– Before manipulating the equipment, ensure that it is not connected to a
power source by disconnecting the power from the external supply box.
– Check the status of the enclosure and its closures. Verify that there are
no knocks or scratches that could affect its protection index.
– Verify the correct status of the connectors and hoses.
– Clean the outside of the equipment with a damp cloth. Never use any
kind of chemical product directly on the charger. To remove accumulated
dust from the inside, first disconnect the equipment from power, then
use a dry cloth (never a wet one).
– If any damaged parts are found, repair must be performed by qualified
personnel using original replacement parts from Simon S.A.U.

all phases.
10.2 Check of electrical parts
– First, disconnect all the protections from the charger and the external
supply box, ensuring that the equipment is not connected to the
electrical grid.
– Check that there are no loose cables and that the tightening torque of
the connections is adequate.
– Power the equipment by connecting the power from the external supply
box.
– Check the voltage in the equipment terminals are correct: N-L1: 230V,
N-L2: 230V, N-L3: 230V (in single-phase equipment, only N-L: 230V)
– Verify that the power between Neutral and Earth in the input terminals
of the equipment is less than 5 V, with a maximum recommended value
of 1 V.
– Verify that the total approximate earth resistance < 100 Ohms.
– In equipment with protections included:
• If everything is correct, restart all the equipment protections.
• Press the residual current circuit breaker test button and ensure it
works correctly, then switch back to ON.
– If an error is found, repair must be performed by qualified personnel
using original replacement parts from Simon S.A.U.
10.3. Functional test of equipment
– Perform a functional test of the equipment, checking that the following
parts work correctly:
• The display
• The RFID reader
• LED on the front of the equipment: If there is more than one connector,
check that the status of the LED matches the status of the associated
connector. All the colours can be seen clearly:
Green
Blue
Blinking blue

– Verify that EV charging can be performed with the connectors.
– Verify that the two connectors block correctly during charging and
unblock when the session is complete.
10.4. Firmware update
– Check whether a firmware update is necessary for the equipment,
checking the list of versions and recommended changes. (Check with
Simon S.A.U personnel)
– If necessary, perform the update by following the steps listed in the
Configuration Manual.
10.5. Waste management
– The maintenance personnel shall be responsible for properly managing
waste generated during the substitution or repair of the equipment.
