the normal operating phase. A fuse is inserted inside the
controller.
Measure the current absorption of the electric fan for the
maximum extracted air flow, ensuring that it falls within the
values indicated on the electric fan rating plate in relation to the
relative voltage.
To decrease current absorption, reduce the air flow by means
of the damper (if installed) or by artificially creating a drop in
pressure through the electric fan.
II. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USER
1. GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Carefully read this booklet as it gives important information
regarding safety during installation, operation and mainte-
nance.
Preserve this booklet carefully for consultation by the various
operators.
Installation should be carried out by professionally qualified
personnel according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Switch off the appliance in the event of failure or malfunction.
Only contact a service centre authorised by the manufacturer for
repairs and request that original spare parts be used.
Failure to comply with the above could jeopardise the safety of
the appliance.
4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
An extractor hood is an appliance having the function of captur-
ing the air containing fats and odours coming from cooking
appliances.
The hood should be cleaned at regular intervals according to
the instructions given below in order to comply with the health
and hygiene requirements for modern kitchens.
Always disconnect from the electricity supply before carrying out
any maintenance or cleaning.
OVEN HOODS
Remove the grease filters from the hood every week:
To do this, use a screwdriver to remove the two screws securing
the filter support.
Use a water-jet pipe to wash the filters with warm water and
detergent; if necessary use a soft dishwasher brush.
After having washed the filters, rinse them in warm water, shake
them well and leave them to drip before replacing them in the
hood. Using the screws, fix them once more to their support.
When necessary, descale the oven boilers, removing the rela-
tive covering panel "F".
DISHWASHER HOODS
Every 15-20 days remove the front panel (the panel that has
many slits for fume and steam extraction) and clean it with warm
water and detergent.
Clean the internal suction compartment of scale and encrus-
tation using water and detergent.
Rinse everything with warm water and dry.
Replace the front panel.
Periodically check the humidity measuring sensor; if necessary
blow delicately on it to remove any particles.
Clean all the stainless steel surfaces with lukewarm soapy
water, rinse thoroughly and carefully wipe dry.
Caution:
Do not use products containing corrosive substances (bleach,
hydrochloric acid, etc.), even if diluted, nor use shavings, steel
wool, common steel brushes or scrapers to clean the steel.
At least once a year inspect the interior of the pipes that connect
the hood to the exterior or to the flue and clean them if dirty.
It is advisable for professionally qualified persons to carry
out the above-mentioned operations and a maintenance
contract is therefore recommended.
Long period of appliance inactivity
The following precautions should be taken if the appliance is
not to be used for a long time:
- disconnect from the electricity supply;
- thoroughly clean all the steel surfaces;
