Fine alignment of the SCT 418
(D)
1. Adjust the pitch angle
(C)
2. Adjust the roll angle
3. Check the distance to the vehicle and correct if nec‐
essary.
4. Adjust the yaw angle via the yaw angle screw (B).
The lateral offset must be less than 30 mm after
pre-setting the yaw angle, as the alignment unit
can compensate for a maximum lateral offset of
40 mm.
5. If the lateral offset greater than 30 mm: Reposition
the SCT 418 and repeat the fine alignment.
6. Adjust the lateral offset

Attaching calibration boards
For required calibration boards and further infor‐
mation, see e.g. brief instructions (one-pager)
with manufacturer-specific position details.

5.4.1
Attaching "calibration boards with retaining
plate and L bracket or T bracket"
1. If retaining adapters X are mounted, remove retain‐
ing adapter X and move it into park position.
2.
2. Position the slides of the measuring bar.

5.
For calibration boards with retaining plate, set
the slide to the center position. For calibration
boards with 2 retaining plates, position the left
and right slide to the value specified in the
one pager.
3. Hook the calibration board into the retaining bolt of
the mount for large calibration boards.
When hooking in the calibration board, make sure
that the mount for large calibration boards is not
twisted.
The calibration board engages on the slides and is
secured by the magnetic contact surfaces.
4. Check that both sides are properly engaged.
The calibration board is now secured and fixed in
place.

5.4.2
Attaching "calibration boards with retaining
plate"
If only one calibration board is needed for front
camera calibration, the calibration board must be
attached to the center slide. If the calibration
board is attached to the right slide, the pattern
on the calibration board will be rotated by 180°
and front camera calibration will fail. The right
slide is used only if 2 calibration boards are nee‐
ded.
1. If retaining adapters X are mounted, remove retain‐
ing adapter X and move it into park position.
2. Position the calibration board in front of the magnet‐
ic holder on the left slide, observing the position of
the mounting pins on the calibration board and on
the slide.
The calibration board will be pulled against the
left slide by magnetic force.
The mounting pin on the calibration board and
the mounting pin on the left slide will engage cor‐
rectly.
3. Attach the retaining cable to a lock ring on the back
of the calibration board.
The calibration board is now secured and fixed in
place.
4. Check the position of the calibration boards.
