1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
CAUTION!
It is very important to carefully read and follow all safety instructions before you
start working with the machine. By following these few rules you will avoid
damage and also ensure the long service life and efficiency of your new machine.
A) TRAINING
1. Use the machine according to the manufacturer's instructions in the operation manual, including the
separately supplied engine instruction manual. Improper use can cause injury to the operator.
Unauthorized modifications to the equipment or engine, their use for other purposes may reduce
performance, safety and service life. Therefore, use only the designated spare parts and approved
accessories.
2. Never operate the machine when people, especially children or animals are nearby.
3. Do not allow children or adults who have not read this manual and the engine manual to handle the
machine. The operator age may be restricted by the local regulations.
4. Always bear in mind that the operator of the machine is responsible for the safe use of the machine and
for the accidents and damage caused to other persons or their property.
B) PREPARATION
1. Wear work boots and long trousers when working. Do not operate the machine barefoot or in sandals.
2. Keep hands and feet away from the rotating machine parts, avoid staying near the rotating tools.
3. Carefully inspect the work area and remove any objects that could be caught or ejected by the rotating
tool.
4. Always check the condition of the machine, the state of wear and tear, and any damage to components
before use. Tighten the loose connections, replace the worn and damaged parts. Always change the
working tools in a set to maintain balance.
5. Before use, check that all covers are fitted and secured. Do not use the machine without covers in place.
C) OPERATION
1. Work only in the daylight or in a good artificial light.
2. Take extra care when working on slopes, especially when changing the direction. Do not operate the
machine on slopes that are too steep. The maximum slope accessibility of the machine is 10°. Always
use extreme caution when changing the driving direction on a slope.
3. Walk, never run, behind the machine.
4. Take extra care when reversing the machine run.
5. Never lift or carry the machine with the engine running.
6. Always stop the engine when leaving the machine, when transporting, cleaning, repairing or changing
parts and before refueling. Always remove the cable from the spark plug before servicing.
7. Never leave the machine unattended with the engine running. Unnecessarily long idling can damage the
machine drive. The machine may also get moving spontaneously.
8. Before starting the engine, make sure that the machine drive is not switched on.
9. Start with a quick and smooth pull to avoid kickback. Start carefully as instructed in the manual, standing
well away from the work tool and other rotating parts.
10. Avoid letting the machine running without the exhaust silencer, filter and covers.
11. Keep the cooling fins on the engine cylinder clean.
12. Do not touch the spark plug cable and the engine cover while the engine is running.
13. When you have finished working on the machine, put the throttle lever in the SLOW position, turn off
the engine and close the fuel valve.
D) MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
1. The engine is equipped with a speed governor that is set for the optimum engine performance. Do not
change the governor setting, damage to the engine may occur.
