8. TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
CAUTION!
Gasoline is extremely flammable and explosive under certain conditions. Avoid smoking
and handling open flames or spark sources in the machine storage area.
Transport (Figure 18)
In transporting, keep the machine upright to prevent fuel spillage. Spilled fuel or fuel vapors can ignite.
Transport the machine with the engine switched off. Use the transport wheel for moving the machine. When
transporting it over longer distances the machine can be carried with the help of another person.
Storage
CAUTION! The engine must cool down completely before storing the machine.
Before shutting down and storing the machine for long periods of time:

Drain the fuel from the fuel tank and reinstall the cap. Empty the carburettor by starting the engine
and waiting for it to stop (residual mixture could damage the carburettor).

Remove the spark plug and pour some oil into the cylinder. Rotate the engine shaft several times
using the starter cord to ensure the oil is well distributed. Reinstall the plug.

Protect the engine with a permeable package.

Store the machine in a dry place, preferably not in a direct contact with the ground and well away
from the heat sources.

Dispose of fuel and oil according to the regulations and with due regard for the environment.

Clean the air filter carefully.

Do not leave the machine standing with the handlebar resting on the ground. This would allow the
oil to enter the cylinder or the fuel to spill.
9. SERVICE AND SPARE PARTS
Service and spare parts are provided by the dealer, Mountfield, Inc., at its stores and specialized service
centers.
10. WARRANTY CONDITIONS
The warranty period is stated on the purchasing document, minimum 24 months, beginning from the hand-
over of the device which has to be proven by the original purchasing document. Wearing parts,
rechargeable batteries and defects caused by use of non-fitting accessories, repair with parts that are not
original parts of the manufacturer, use of force, strokes and breaking as well as mischievous overloading of
the motor are excluded from this warranty. Warranty replacement does only include defective parts, not
complete devices. Warranty repair shall exclusively be carried out by authorized service partners or by the
company's customer service. In the case of any intervention of not authorized personnel, the warranty will
be held void.
