CAUTION!
The cultivator can jump up and/or forward if the cultivator blades hit a very hard soil or a
hidden obstacle such as large stones or roots. Losing control of the machine can cause
serious injury. Or damage to property
Removing foreign objects: During the cultivator operation, stones or roots may become jammed between
the cultivating blades and a long grass or weeds may become entangled on the cultivator shaft. Before
removing such foreign objects from the cultivator blades, release the blade drive lever and wait until the
cultivator blades have come to a complete stop, then turn off the engine. Remove foreign objects from the
cultivating blades or from the cultivating blade shaft.
5. ENGINE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Refer to the separate operation and maintenance manual for DVO150 gasoline engines.
6. CULTIVATOR MAINTENANCE AND SETTING
CAUTION!
Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug before carrying out any maintenance
work.
Never start the cultivator in the enclosed or poorly ventilated areas where fumes may
accumulate. Emissions from the engine contain a carbon monoxide which is hazardous
to life.
When handling the cultivator, do not tip it on its side or on its front side where the spark plug is
located. Oil and fuel leakage would occur.
All nuts, bolts and screws must be properly tightened so that the machine is in a safe and serviceable
condition. Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the user safety, maintain the operability and high
performance of the cultivator. Check the protective covers and blades for condition on regular basis.
The gearbox is lubricated ex-works with a lifetime charge of lubricant and it is completely maintenance free.
Coupler cord setting (Figure 17)
Check to see if the coupler is working properly (the coupler should engage when its lever is depressed after
about the first 1/3 of the travel)
If not, loosen the locking nut (1) and adjust the cord length by tightening or loosening the nut (2). Once you
have completed the adjustment, retighten the locking nut.
CAUTION!
Incorrect adjustment of the coupler cord will prevent the cultivator from being used
correctly.
