• Only wear the safety helmet when it is connect-
ed to the fan and the fan is in operation.
• The fan may only be used in conjunction with
respirators that meet the requirements of Europe-
an and Australian standards and are approved
for combined operation.
• This powered air purifying respirator (PAPR)
does not protect against gaseous substances.
• Put the device on and switch on before starting
work, only in this way can the danger zone be
safely entered.
• If the fan malfunctions, leave the danger zone
immediately.
• As soon as the battery alarm activates (red LED
lights up and acoustic signal), you must leave
the danger zone immediately.
• Charge or replace the battery.
• You must leave the danger zone immediately
as soon as the airflow alarm activates (red LED
lights up and acoustic signal).
• If there is a strong wind from the side or rear, the
protective function of the safety helmet may be
impaired.
• In environments with very high particulate levels,
a vacuum may occur in the safety helmet during
inhalation. This could reduce the protective ef-
fect. If this is the case, do not remove the safety
helmet or switch off the fan until you have left
the danger zone.
• If you remove the safety helmet, take all
necessary precautions to avoid inhaling dust or
contaminated material that may have settled on

Special safety warnings
• Ensure that water does not get into the device
during cleaning.
• Used filters cannot be cleaned or reconditioned.
• Attempts to clean filters with compressed air or
water may damage the filter. Do not short-circuit
the battery; this may cause severe damage.
• When using a hose sleeve, it must be replaced
every six months.
• Intense UV and IR radiation will cause the hose
sleeve and air hose to loose their flame-retar-
dant properties. Before every use, the hose
sleeve must be carefully inspected to determine
whether light or brown points have formed
on the textile. Do not continue to use the hose
sleeve once light or matt points become visible –
it must be replaced.
