Installation
4.4.3.3 Check the Bluetooth Signal Quality
Each installation of Bluetooth gateway and sensors has its own characteristics, making it impossible to guarantee
that the quality of the Bluetooth signal is the same for two different installations. As a rule of thumb, consider
that Bluetooth sensors can be up to 50 meters away from the gateway in the open for communication between
them to take place. However, it is worth of notice that sensors working at the limit of the distance may encounter
communication problems, since factors such as air humidity and people walking around can reduce this distance
limit between gateway and sensors.
To assist in signal quality analysis, it is recommended to use the cell phone with Bluetooth signal quality analysis
apps. Leave the cell phone close to the Cassia X2000 gateway to check the signal quality of the sensors at that
specific point. Once the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication) values have been obtained, check on the table
below if the signal is enough to operate properly.

4.4.3.4 The Height at Which the Gateway is Installed Must be Taken Into Account
The gateway has a good communication performance when installed at heights from 3 to 10 meters. In this range,
the Cassia X2000 gateway must be installed upright, with no inclination in relation to the floor. If the gateway is
installed at a height above 10 meters, but below 20 meters, we recommend that you install it with an inclination
from 5 to 10 degrees in relation to the floor, leaning towards the direction in which the Bluetooth sensors are
located. If the gateway is installed at a height above 20 meters, the user must determine the best angle at which
the gateway should be installed to obtain the best Bluetooth signal in the surroundings of the Bluetooth sensors.
This is because the antennas of the product have the greatest range in the horizontal plane at the same height as
the gateway, and it decreases to its minimum range immediately below the gateway. The following image shows
how the radiation from the antenna spreads through space.
NOTE!
The use of external antennas increases the range of the gateway, but it maintains a radiation behavior
of the Bluetooth signals close to that seen in
