• Read the operating instructions before use.
• The pet feeder is not a toy for children. Do not let children play with
the packaging foil. Danger of suffocation!
• The feeder is only suitable for dry food (diameter 5 - 15 mm).
• Do not use it with puppies and kittens under 7 months.
• The base unit must not get wet - not dishwasher suitable.
• Additional instructions for the use of IOT devices can be found at the
end of this manual.
Electric Shock Hazard!
• Incorrect use may result in electric shock.
• The mains voltage of the socket must match the specification on the
automatic feeder.
• Ideally, use an easily accessible socket so that you can quickly dis-
connect the feeder from the mains if necessary.
• Do not use the feeder if there is visible damage to the appliance or
the mains cable or plug.
• Do not open the feeder, but contact our customer service.
• Do not use a timer or other remote control system.
• Never touch the mains plug with wet hands.
Safety
• The feeder is suitable for indoor use only.
• Place the feeder on a level surface. The feeder must be sufficiently
ventilated on all sides.
• Only use the feeder with the feed container and lid and do not place
anything on top of it.
• Never pull the mains plug out of the socket by the cable, always
grasp the mains plug.
• Do not use the power cord as a carrying handle.
• Keep the feeder and power plug away from open flames and heat.
• Route the power cord so that it does not become a tripping hazard.
• Do not kink the power cord or place it over sharp edges.
• Do not allow your pet to nibble on the feeder or cord. If necessary,
protect it with a cord protector.
• Never reach for an electrical appliance if it has fallen into the water.
In such a case, unplug the appliance immediately.
• Unplug the feeder when not in use or when cleaning it.
Preparation
1. Press the lock on the top of the lid to open the feeder and remove
the accessories from the feed container.
2. Connect the automatic feeder to a power source using the power plug.
3. Optionally, you can insert 3 x D mono batteries into the automatic
feeder as an emergency power supply. That way the programmed feeding
times can be guaranteed even in the event of a power failure. Please note
that the automatic feeder is not accessible via the app in battery mode.
4. To navigate and programme the feeder, download the Trixie app to
your smartphone or tablet. Scanning the QR code will take you to
the download (https://goto.trixie.de/item/24344):
Pairing the device
Open the app and follow the instructions in the app to create a user
account and set up the feeder.
Please note the following general instructions to ensure smooth
pairing:
1. The feeder should be placed near your Wi-Fi router for the duration
of the pairing process. Your smartphone should be in the immediate
range of the feeder at the same time.
2. Make sure that your smartphone is connected to the WLAN and has a
high signal strength.
3. Please note that the feeder will not work on 5.0 GHz only networks.
4. If your Wi-Fi password contains special characters, you may expe-
rience problems during the pairing process. If necessary, change your
WLAN password so that it contains only letters and numbers. The
maximum length of the WLAN password is 20 characters.
Filling the feeder
After successful pairing, you can fill the automatic feeder with dry
food.
1. Press the lock on the top of the lid to open the automatic feeder.
Remove the foil from the desiccant bag and place it in the small
compartment on the inside of the lid. Assemble the feeder by tilting
the feeder slightly backward, aligning the bowl, and snapping it into
place in the feeder housing.
2. Now fill the bowl with dry food and then trigger a manual feeding by
briefly pressing the
key 1x. This ensures that the conveying mecha-
nism of the dispenser is also filled with dry food.
The dry feed used should be at least 5 mm thick and not exceed a
maximum diameter of 15 mm. A circular shape is preferable. Dry
food that is too flat, too large, unusually shaped or very sticky can
cause a blockage in the conveying mechanism.
Please make sure that the food slides down properly in the bowl.
When in doubt, switch to a less sticky type of food if the food accu-
mulates in the top half of the bowl and blocks the outlet.
Manual feeding
Open the lid and briefly press the
of dry food. Repeat the step as often as required to dispense additio-
nal portions.
Resetting the automatic feeder
To pair the automatic feeder with a new WLAN network - e.g. after
moving house - the dispenser must first be reset. To do this, press
and hold the
key for approx. 5 seconds until you hear a signal tone.
As soon as the blue „LINK" LED flashes, the process is complete and
the feeder can be paired again.
Familiarisation
Some pets need some time to get used to the new feeder. We there-
fore recommend the following:
• Place the automatic feeder next to your dog's or cat's food bowl
without switching it on.
• Initially, fill the pet's current bowl as well as the bowl of the automa-
tic feeder with food.
• When your pet has become accustomed to the automatic feeder,
you can take the normal bowl away.
To arouse your pet's curiosity about the automatic feeder, you
should regularly put some treats in the bowl at the beginning.
