„ Once the zero has been adjusted, press the trigger of the clamp to open the jaws.
„ Clamp the cable carrying the current to be measured. Use the centring marks to help you centre the
cable inside the jaws of the clamp.
The arrow on the clamp must point in the presumed direction of current flow.
„ Release the trigger and check that the jaws are correctly closed.
„ The value measured is displayed on the measuring instrument.
If the OL indicator lights, it means that the current is too strong to be measured. If you are in the 10 mV/A
range, disconnect the clamp from the conductor being measured, then switch to the 1 mV/A range, carry
out a DC Zero (see § 2.2.), reconnect the clamp to the conductor.
„ Apply the conversion factor corresponding to the setting of the switch.
To calculate the current in A, divide the reading in V on the measuring instrument by the coefficient.
For example, a reading of 1 V (or 1000 mV) on the measuring instrument corresponds to a current of
1 V
= 100 A in the 150 A range.
10 mV/A
2.4. AUTOMATIC STANDBY
After 10 minutes of operation with no sign of the user's presence (pressing of the DC Zero button or
manipulation of the switch), the clamp switches itself to standby and the ON indicator goes off.
To reactivate the clamp, press the DC Zero button or set the switch to a position other than OFF.
To disable automatic standby, press the DC Zero button when you switch the instrument on. The ON
indicator blinks to report that the request has been applied, then lights steady yellow when you release
the DC Zero button.
When the clamp is off (switch set to OFF), automatic standby is reactivated.
2.5. MAINS ADAPTER (OPTION)
For long‑term measurements, you can connect the clamp to mains using the optional line power adapter.
You can use any mains/micro‑USB adapter that delivers 100 mA or more.
When the instrument is powered via the micro‑USB connector, automatic standby is disabled.
The insulation between the type B micro‑USB connector and the measurement output is 600 V CAT III.
This makes it possible to connect the clamp, without risk, to measuring instruments having inputs that
are not insulated. The type B micro‑USB connector must not be in contact with conductors or uninsulated
parts at dangerous voltage.
If the external power supply is disconnected, the clamp changes back to battery‑powered operation.
The colour of the ON indicator indicates whether automatic standby is enabled (indicator green) or not
(indicator yellow).
