4.5 General instructions for use
Before starting, make sure you read, understand and apply the
safety instructions and other instructions included in the present
manual.
Below you will find a series of general indications that will
allow you initiating yourself in the world of welding and working
efficiently. In the present manual, instructions are provided with
regard to the rudiments of shielded-electrode welding of relatively
moderate difficulty in execution and regarding TIG welding having
a relatively greater difficulty. Take into account that welding on
professional level is a qualified and specialized activity. For further
information, refer to specialized books and regulated professional
training courses.
4.5.1 Control panel
Introduction
The machine is managed on the control panel. It is based on a
microprocessor managed by a specific application on a real-time
operating system. It consists of a 3x7 segment display, 34 LEDs,
the rotary encoder A and the 7 buttons B1, B2, C, D, E, F and G.
The operation is intuitive:
1. The rotary encoder A sets the parameter values.
2. The B1 and B2 buttons select parameters subject to adjustment.

3. With buttons C to F select welding modes and process
properties.
Instructions for use of rotary encoder A
Turning to the left lowers the value and turning to the right
increases the value. The range of values is automatically set by
software in relation to the selected parameter. For quick setting of
values, hold inward and turn. For small adjustments or final fine
adjustment turn without pressing.
Instructions for use of parameter selectors B1 and B2
Depending on the working mode, the application software will
select the different parameters that can be selected with buttons
B1 and B2. When you press B1 or B2, the indicator led will start
flashing indicating the selected parameter and the display shows
the parameter's setting value. With B1 the selection is moved to
the left and with B2 it is moved to the left.
Once the parameter is selected, the indicator led flashes for 5
seconds to review the value or to modify it with the encoder A.
After 5 seconds without modifying the parameter, the indicator
led turns off and the display shows the value of the main welding
current.
Instructions for use of welding modes and process properties
Each one 5 buttons C, D, E, F and G select the corresponding
modes and properties on the LEDs above them.
Each press of a button advances the selection.
