Drill rig 58G540
SECURITY MEASURES
Safety warnings for working with a diamond drill
• If drilling requires the use of water, drain the water away from the
operator's work area or use a liquid collection device. Such
precautions keep the operator's work area dry and reduce the risk
of electrocution.
• When carrying out operations where the cutting accessory may
come into contact with concealed wires or your own cable,
operate the power tool by holding insulated grip surfaces. Contact
of the cutting accessory with a live wire may cause exposed metal
parts of the power tool to become live and may cause the
operator to receive an electric shock.
• Wear hearing protection when diamond drilling. Exposure to
noise can cause hearing loss.
• When the drill bit jams, stop applying downward pressure and
switch off the tool. Investigate and take corrective action to
eliminate the cause of the drill jamming.
• When restarting the diamond drill in the workpiece, check that the
drill rotates freely before starting. If the drill is jammed, it may not
start, may overload the tool or may cause the diamond drill to
release from the workpiece.
• When securing the drill rig with anchors and fasteners to the
workpiece, ensure that the anchors used are capable of holding
and restraining the machine during use. If the workpiece is weak
or porous, the anchor may dislodge, causing the tripod to become
detached from the workpiece.
• When drilling through walls or ceilings, ensure that people and
the work area on the other side are protected. The tip may pass
through the hole or the core may fall out on the other side.
• Do not use this tool to drill overhead with a water supply. Getting
water into the power tool increases the risk of electric shock.
NOTE The above warning is only needed for tools that cannot be
used for overhead drilling.
• Always use the fluid collection device specified in the instructions
when drilling overhead. Do not allow water to get into the tool.
Getting water into the power tool increases the risk of electric
shock.
EN
NOTE The above warning is only needed for tools that can be
used for overhead drilling.
• Read the operating instructions carefully and take precautions
before starting work and keep them for future reference.
• Strictly observe the operating instructions, irregularities in
compliance. Failure to observe the precautions, and safety
instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
• Keep the work area clean and well lit. Untidy or under-lit work
areas can cause accidents
• Do not work with the power tool in an explosive atmosphere as
flammable liquids, gases or dust may be present. Power tools
produce sparks which can ignite dust or flammable vapours.
• Keep children and other unauthorised persons away from the
power tool when using it. Use caution and concentration when
working, otherwise you may lose control of the machine.
• When working, be attentive, pay attention to what you are doing
and to your surroundings. Do not use a power tool while tired or
under the influence of drugs, alcohol or other pharmaceuticals. A
moment's carelessness when using a power tool can cause
serious injury.
• Wear personal protective equipment and safety goggles at all
times. Wear personal protective equipment such as a dust mask,
non-slip shoes, safety helmet or ear defenders to reduce the risk
of an accident.
• Avoid unintentional starting. Make sure the power tool is switched
off before plugging it in by lifting or moving it. When you keep your
finger on the switch while moving the power tool or plugging in
the power tool while it is switched on, it can cause accidents.
• Remove adjusting tools or spanners before turning on the power
tool. A tool or spanner that is on the rotary tool can cause injury.
• Avoid incorrect posture. Take care of a safe position and always
keep your balance. Do not work with the tool on a ladder. This
will give you better control of the power tool in unexpected
situations.
• Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear wide clothing or jewellery.
Keep hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Wide
clothing, jewellery or long hair can be caught by moving parts.
• Do not overload the appliance. Use the right power tool for your
job. With the right power tool you work better and save within the
claimed performance range.
• Do not use a power tool with a faulty switch. A power tool that
cannot be switched on and off is dangerous and needs to be
repaired.
• Unplug the power tool from the socket before making
adjustments to the tool, changing accessories or setting the tool
aside. This safety measure avoids unintentionally starting the
power tool.
• Keep unused power tools out of the reach of children. Do not
allow people to use the tool who are not familiar with it or who
have not read this manual. Power tools are dangerous if used by
inexperienced people.
• Voltage: please note that the supply voltage should not exceed ±
5% of the rated voltage. However, higher voltages may cause
irreparable damage.
