D - CONNECTIONS
D1-General connections:
Connect the supply cable of boards (D) and the amplifier
telecontrol cable (E).

FIG. D1
Important: For CI Boards (MS87XX) you should use
Power Supply with CI compatible label (Fig. D1)*
Note: While you carry out the connections, assure your-
self that general feeding at 230V is disconnected.
Also connect the input bridges (next figures). For OFDM
receivers we recommend to make groups of two recei-
vers and use the built in distributor before. For standa-
lone modulators you shoud connect the video / audio
cables to the RCA and Jack connector when you finish
the channel adjustment process (not before, because vi-
deo signal would mask the OSD menus).

For wide band amplification (MS8640/41/31) connect RF
bridges to the outputs (next figure), with load VR7832

FIG. D6 - WIDEBAND AMPLIFICATION
For single channel amplification interconnect each recei-
ver to each amplifier (using load on the free input of
each amplifier. (next figure). For adjacent channels use
receivers with VSB modulator (MS8710/1, MS8720/1,
MS8750/1).

D2 - CONNECTIONS OF CI SYSTEM (only for
boards with this system):
75 ohm
If you want to use the common interface in some recei-
vers, insert in this connector the corresponding PCMCIA
(CAM) and the cards of the wanted channels. If you want
more than a service for card, you should configure as a
75 ohm
MASTER the receiver with the CAM and configure as a
SLAVE the slave receivers.
MS8640
Usually only professional CAMs allow the multi-program
SAT IN
decodification up to a maximum number of programs. For
TEST
Master or Slave boards insert a jumper (MS8675) in the
connector showed in figure D8. For Standalone boards
(Individual) leave the connectors without jumpers.

E - SMATV SYSTEM PROGRAMMATION
SMATV SYSTEM is the preconfigured system from fac-

FIG. E1
In SMATV System programmation is done directly on the
station. To program a certain receiver you have three
possibilities: By means of the frontal buttons (see figure
E3A), by means of the programmer MS1695 (figure E3B)
or by means of the included infrared remote control (fig.
E3C). The programmer has its own display. Programma-
tion by means of remote control or frontal buttons needs
a tv-set.
Now do the following steps:
Connect the feeding cable of the DigiCompact8 power
supply to the 230Vac network.
Attention: connect the power supply after having done
all the connections. NEVER THE OPPOSITE.
E0 - Selection of the receiver:
If you use the programmer (figure E3B) connect it to the
RS232 of the required receiver and press the ESC key
(READY or the first parameter to be adjusted will appear
on the programmer screen).
If you don´t use the programmer please press the frontal
"M" button (figure E3A) and see the menu on the tv-set
with its AV input connected to the RCA video output con-
nector of the QPSK/OFDM receiver we want to program
(figure E1).
E1 - Identification of the preprogrammed
RF output channel:
If you want to see the menus from the receiver RF output
(indispensable in standalone modulators because RCA
connector is the video input), you should tune the tvset
on the output channel programmed in the receiver. To
know this channel, tune momentarily the tvset to chan-
nel 21, press front M key and press the RECALL key on
the remote control (figure E2). The programmed output
channel will appear in "STORED CH". Then, press any
key to quit from this mode and tune your tvset to this
new channel (STORED CH) in order to see the menus
on tvset.
Atention: you should activate RF output (RF ON to left)
and adjust the wanted level (figure C6B). Remember also
that for standalone modulators you should connect the
video/audio cables to the RCA and jack connectors only
when you finish the channel adjustment process.
