F - LINK SYSTEM PROGRAMATION
(FAST GuIDE):
F1 - Introduction
The following information describes the configuration
process of the LINK system, which includes 3 different
control modes:
HOTEL-LINK: All modules are controlled from one single
point (typically from the TV outlet located on the Hotel
reception). By default all menus are available, except the
Headend-Installation one, where the installer selects the
parameters of the input signal (to avoid improper modifi
NO
cations from the Hotel reception). Additionally the installer
MIN
will be able to block any other menu (parental control).
NO
In this mode, there will be as many channels available as
modules are in the headend, but from the hotel reception,
at any time, will be possible to modify the channel simply
accessing to a Favourite list of channels.
HOTEL-USER: Every user controls independently its own
module from the hotel room of the hotel. In this mode,
there will be only available the general list of channels,
the language Favourite list and the games. All channels
available in the antenna will be available in the room,
through one single RF channel.
USER-LINK: Every user controls independently its own
module from his apartment. By default all menus are
available, except the Headend-Installation one. All chan-
nels available in the antenna will be available in the
apartment, through one single RF channel.
F2- LINK System Configuration
F2.1 - Every receiver (QPSK or OFDM) includes two le-
vels of software preprogrammed in its memory.
-SMATV: The simplest, robust and most standard soft-
ware. The setup is performed on the headend, which will
offer as many channels as modules. To change a channel
confi guration, the installer must access to the headend.
-LINK: Remote control of the headend, with 3 modes al-
ready described on the previous paragraph. To use this
mode, is necessary to have a MULTILINK (MS1699) ac-
cessory on the TV outlet where we want to control the
headend.
Note: All modules are supplied as factory default in
SMATV mode. The DC8 allows mixing at the same time,
modules in SMATV together with modules in LINK mode.
Atention: Only the boards with 6 or more characters in
their SW label, incorporate the LINK system. If you want
to upgrade software please go to E11A step.
F2.2 - To setup the LINK mode, please refer to the fo-
llowing steps to be performed in the headend. Firstly,
install and connect the DigiCompact8 as described on
the general manual (steps C & D). Connect the video
output of the module (RCA connector) to the TV set or
level meter.

sing the FAV key on the remote control.
Please note, that the automatic classification of langua-
ge lists, is done based on the information sent by the
broadcaster. If the broadcaster sends the code "UNDE-
FINED", this channel will not be assigned to any list, but
you can then edit the channel and added to a specific list
