Settings 2
D/A converter operation setting
PCMM>***
The D/A converter operation mode used during PCM playback can
be set to three types: M1, M2 or M3.
o By default, the setting is M1.
This changes the ΔΣ modulator operation frequency and randomiza-
tion algorithm used to absorb hardware error.
M1 is the ESOTERIC reference mode.
The operation frequency of the ΔΣ modulator becomes progressively
lower in order from M1 to M2 to M3.
The replacement amount of the randomization algorithm increases
progressively in order from M1 to M2 to M3.
Select the sound setting you prefer.
PCM output gain setting
PCMG>***
Use this to set the gain for PCM signal playback. This can be used
to reduce the volume difference between PCM and DSD signal
playback.
Set it as necessary.
o By default, the setting is FULL.
FULL
The gain is not adjusted.
LOW
PCM signal gain is reduced from the original setting before output.
Use when the volume of PCM signals during playback seem loud
compared to DSD signals.
DSD filter setting
DSDF>***
Use to set the digital filter during DSD playback.
Set it as desired.
o By default, the setting is OFF.
OFF
No digital filter is used.
F1, F2, F3
A digital filter is used. F1, F2 and F3 are digital filters with different
frequency responses. The cutoff frequency becomes progressively
lower from F1 to F2 to F3.
Remote control input (RS-232C) connector
setting
RS232C>***
Set this to ON only when using the remote control input (RS-232C)
connector.
o By default, the setting is OFF.
OFF
The remote control input (RS-232C) connector cannot be used.
ON
The remote control input (RS-232C) connector can be used.
