Adjust the swivel wedge support as follows:
1. Move the swivel wedge frame into its straight-ahead position
(0° ± 5°), as shown in Figure 35. The swivel wedge frame must
remain in the straight-ahead position during adjustment.
2. Check that the adjusting nut (A) and lock nut (B) are loose. If
necessary, slacken them by half a turn so that they can rotate
freely on the threaded pin.
3. Turn the adjusting nut (A) by hand until the swivel wedge sup-
port (1) is in contact with the kingpin (2), without any clear-
ance.
4. Tighten the adjusting nut (A) by 45° using a size 16 open-end
spanner. Mark the position of the adjusting nut (A) on the
swivel wedge support (1), as shown in Figure 36.
5. Turn the lock nut (B) by hand until it is in contact with the
adjusting nut (A).
6. Hold the adjusting nut (A) in position with the size 16 open-
end spanner and tighten the lock nut (B) with a size 17 open-
end spanner.
7. Using the marking you have made, check that the adjusting
nut (A) is in the correct position. If the adjusting nut (A) is not
in position, repeat the adjustment.
