To avoid accidents, always disconnect plug from power source before trouble-
shooting.
Problem
Saw will not start.
Blade does not come up to
speed.
Excessive vibration.
Cannot make square cut when
crosscutting.
Cut binds, burns, stalls motor
when ripping.
Cut not true at 90° or 45°
positions.

Troubleshooting
Cause
Power cord is not plugged in.
Fuse or circuit breaker tripped.
Cord damaged.
Burned out switch.
Other.
Extension cord too light or too
long.
Low house voltage.
Blade Bevel Lock Handle 3 not
tightened.
The Blade 31 is out of balance.
The saw is not mounted securely
to the stand or workbench.
The Arbor Nut 52 not tightened
properly.
The Miter Gauge 14 is not adjust-
ed properly.
The Blade 31 is dull.
Warped board.
The Rip Fence 9 is not parallel to
the Blade 31.
The Riving Knife 25 is out of
alignment.
The bevel stops are not adjusted
properly.
Bevel Stops not engaged.

Corrective Action
Plug saw in.
Replace fuse or reset tripped cir-
cuit breaker.
Have cord replaced by an Autho-
rized Bosch Service Center or
Service Station.
Have switch replaced by an Au-
thorized Bosch Service Center or
Service Station.
Have the tool reviewed by an Au-
thorized Bosch Service Center or
Service Station.
Replace with adequate cord.
Contact your electric company.

Discard the Blade 31 and use a
different Blade 31.
Tighten all mounting hardware.

Tighten the Arbor Nut 52. (See

Replace Blade 31. (See "Changing
the Blade" on page 20.)
Make sure the concave or hollow
side is facing DOWN, and feed
slowly.

Ensure Bevel Stops are engaged.
