● Drill bits may snap off while withdrawing from
the drilled hole. When withdrawing, relax the
force with which you press the tool against the
material.
8. How to use the LED light
While the switch is pulled, the LED light will
automatically light up the tip portion of the tool.
(Fig. 15)
The LED light will automatically turn off 10 seconds
after the switch is released.
The LED light also functions as a warning signal that
lights up during use.
For details, see "10. LED light warning signals".
Trigger switch
CAUTION
● Do not expose directly your eye to the light by
looking into the light.
If your eye is continuously exposed to the light,
your eye will be hurt.
● Wipe off any dirt or grime attached to the lens of
the LED light with a soft cloth, being careful not
to scratch the lens.
Scratches on the lens of the LED light can result
in decreased brightness.
9. Reactive force control
This product is equipped with a Reactive Force
Control (RFC) feature that reduces jerking of the tool
body.
If the tool bit is suddenly overburdened, any jerking of
the tool body is reduced by activation of the slip clutch
or by stopping of the motor by the sensor built into the
tool body.
If the motor is stopped because of overburdening
detection by the controller, the LED light will blink
while the switch is pulled. The motor will remain
stopped while the lamp is blinking. (Fig. 16)

NOTE
● RFC may not always activate under certain working
conditions or situations.
When working, ensure that the material is securely
placed and fastened, hold the tool body securely, and
be suffi ciently careful not to suddenly apply a large
load to the tool tip.
● Take care to hold the tool fi rmly to prevent any jerking
motion.
● Possible causes of sudden overburdening
Tool bit biting into material
Impact against nails, metal or other hard objects
Tasks involving prying or any excess application of
pressure, etc.
Also, other causes include any combination of the
aforementioned.
● When the reactive force control (RFC) is triggered
When the RFC is triggered and the motor stops, turn
off the tool's switch and remove the cause of the
overburdening before continuing operation.
10. LED light warning signals
This product features functions that are designed to
protect the tool itself as well as the battery. If any of
the safeguard functions activate during operation, the
LED light will blink as described in Table 5. When any
of the safeguard functions are triggered, immediately
remove your fi nger from the switch and follow the
instructions described under corrective action.
