Drilling Wood or Plastic
If backing block is not used, ease up on the pres-
sure just before the bit breaks through the wood
to avoid splintering. Complete the hole from the
opposite side immediately after the point breaks
through. If bit binds, reverse the drilling opera-
tion to help remove the bit from the work.
Drilling Metal
Center punch mark the center of the hole for
easier starting. Use enough pressure to keep the
bit cutting. If the bit is allowed to merely spin in
the hole, it will become dull within a short time.
When drilling a larger hole, it is faster and easier
on your power pack to first make a smaller hole
and enlarge it to the required size. Lubricate the
tip of the bit occasionally with CUTTING OIL for
easier metal drilling. If bit binds, reverse the
drilling to help remove the bit from the work.
Hanging Up the Power Tool
(Fig. 13)
You can use the utility hook 11 to attach the
power tool to a suitable suspension device.
— Briefly push the utility hook 11 towards the
handle 9 to release the locking mechanism.
The utility hook will extend backwards by it-
self.
— Turn the utility hook to the side.
— Check the utility hook 11 for damage or de-
formation.
Do not use the utility hook 11 if it is damaged,
deformed or no longer firmly secured to the
power tool.
— Use the utility hook 11 to attach the power
tool to a suspension device.
To avoid damage or injury, the suspension de-
vice must not be attached above walkways or
immediate work areas.
The utility hook is intended solely for the pur-
pose of hanging the power tool, including fitted
accessories.
— Turn back the utility hook 11 and push it with
light pressure forwards and downwards into
the locking position when you are working
with the power tool.
