Angling the Cutting Head
To cut sloping edges or the top of the
hedge, the cutting head can be swivelled
into 11 positions.
Press the lock button (4) and
swivel the cutting head (2) at the
same time. It clicks into the desired
position when the lock button is
released.
Switching On and Off
Ensure that you are standing in a
firm position with both hands grip-
ping the hedge trimmer away from
the body. Ensure that the trimmer
is in contact with no other objects
before switching on.
1. Actuate the safety switch (
switch the device on with the on/off
switch (
12). A lockable continuous
operation is not possible due to rea-
sons of safety.
2. If you release the on/off switch (
12), the device switches off again.
Working with the equipment
Do not use the unit when stand-
ing on a ladder or in an unsafe
position. Do not be tempted to
make unconsidered cuts. Doing
so may endanger both yourself
and others.
During cutting work, ensure that no
contact is made with objects, e.g.
such as wire fencing or main plant
stems. This may result in damage
to the cutter bar.

If the blades become jammed with
solid objects, turn the device off im-
mediately, take out the rechargeable
battery, and remove the object.
Always work away from the mains
power outlet. Set the cutting direction
before starting work. Ensure that the
power cable is kept well away from
the working area. Never lay the cable
over the hedge, where it could easily
be caught up in the trimmer blades.
11) and
Do not use the unit if the blades are
blunt or worn. This will overstress the
motor and gearbox of the machine.
Avoid overstraining the equipment
during work.
Change position regularly while op-
erating the device. Prolonged use of
the device can lead to blood circula-
tion disorders in the hands caused
by vibration. You can however extend
your machine use time by wearing
appropriate safety gloves or by tak-
ing regular breaks. Please note that a
personal disposition to poor blood cir-
culation, low outside temperatures, or
strong grip forces while working may
reduce your work capabilities.
Always hold the equipment firmly
in both hands, with one hand on
the rear handle and the other on
the front handle. Thumbs and
fingers must be firmly around the
handles.
Observe the specified working
angle (60°±10°), in order to gua-
rantee safe working.
