• Use the CTC772A charger with the CTB8174
rechargeable battery packs; Charging of any other
types of batteries may cause batteries to burst, causing
injury and damage.
• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from
the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally
occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes,
additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from
the battery may cause irritation or burns.
• Never attempt to connect two chargers together.
• Do not expose charger to rain or snow.
• Pull by plug rather than cord when disconnecting
charger.
• Be sure the cord is not stepped on, tripped over,
damaged, or stressed.
Electric shock and fire can cause injury.
Risk of explosion.
• Wear safety goggles, user and bystander.
Explosion can cause eye injury.
Improper use of power tools and accessories can
cause broken tools.

INSTRUCTIONS.
1. This manual contains important safety and operating
instructions for the Snap-on CTC772A/CTCA772A/
CTCEU772A/CTCJ772A Charger.
2. Before using battery charger, read all instructions and
cautionary markings on battery charger, battery, and
product using battery.

—To reduce risk of injury, charge only
CTB8174 type rechargeable batteries. Other types of
batteries may burst causing personal injury and
damage.
4. Do not expose charger to rain, moisture, or snow.
5. Use of an attachment not recommended or sold by the
battery charger manufacturer may result in a risk of
fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.

6. To reduce the risk of damage to cord, pull by the plug
rather than the cord when disconnecting the charger.
7. Make sure cord is located so that it will not be stepped
on, tripped over, or otherwise subjected to damage or
stress.
8. Do not operate the charger with damaged cord -
replace it immediately.
— Cord replacement for CTC772A/CTCA772A/
CTCEU772A/CTCJ772A charger must be done at
a Snap-on Authorized Service Center since
special tools are required to replace it.
— Cord replacement for CTC772A/CTCA772A/
CTCEU772A/CTCJ772A charger must be done
with an identical cord.
9. Do not operate charger if it has received a sharp blow,
been dropped, or otherwise damaged in any way; take
it to a qualified service person.
10. Do not disassemble charger; take it to a qualified
service person when service or repair is required.
Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of electric
shock or fire.
11. To reduce risk of electric shock, unplug charger before
attempting any maintenance or cleaning. Turning off
controls will not reduce this risk.
12. The appliance can be used by children aged from 16
years and above and persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience
and knowledge if they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe
way and understand the hazards involved.
13. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning
and user maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision.
14. Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
15. Never attempt to connect two chargers together.
16. Have your charger serviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts. This
will ensure that the safety of the charger is maintained.
17. For the location of the nearest Snap-on repair center,
please call Snap-on customer service at 1-877-762-
7664.
18. To reduce risk of battery explosion, follow these
instructions and those marked on the battery.
19. Never smoke or allow an open spark or flame in the
vicinity of the battery or engine.
20. Never charge a frozen battery.
21. Do not operate charger in a closed-in area or restrict
ventilation in any way.
22. Do not use an extension cord unless absolutely
necessary. If an extension cord must be used, make
sure that the:
— Pins on the plug of the extension cord are the
same number, size and shape of those of the plug
on the charger,
— Extension cord is properly wired and in good
electrical condition, and
