7. Press the recording { ® ) button.
@ The unit is set to recording standby mode, called one-touch
recording pause.
@ The recording indicator and the pause indicator light up, and
monitor function is set to source with the [SOURCE: indicator
fit.
8. Adjust the recording level. For details, see "SETTING THE
RECORDING
LEVEL" below.
Depending on the source to be recorded or the equipment used
for playback, the sound volume balance between left and right
may be shifted to one side. In this case perform fine adjustment
using the REC BALANCE control.
Turning the contro! clockwise will lower the left channel level,
and turning it counterclockwise will lower the level of the right
channel.
3, Press the pause ( It) button or the playback ( » } button to
begin recording.
CTAPE] of the Monitor source indicator lights up, and the pause
indicator goes off,
To stop recording temporarily
Press the pause (41) button,

To resume
recording,
press the pause
( H ) button again, or
press the playback ( » ) button.

SETTING THE RECORDING LEVEL
When
adjusting the recording level, observe the reading on the
level meter and adjust the REC LEVEL control appropriately.
When turned clockwise, the recording level is irftreased and the
level
meter
reading
increases
accordingly.
When
turned
counterclockwise, the level is reduced.
If the recording level is too
high, the distortion in the recording increases, and if the level is too
low, tape noise increases and the sound level is low.
Using normal tapes (TYPE 1) or High/CrOz tapes (TYPE
MN):
Adjust the control so that "+2 dB" lights up from time to time with
peak input signals.
Using metal tapes (TYPE IV):
Adjust the controls so that "+4 dB" lights up from time to time with
peak input signals.
NOTE:
The optimum recording level may differ somewhat depending on
the audio source and type of tape used. In order to obtain the best
possible results, set the recording level after actual testing. Listen
to your recordings, and adjust the level as necessary.

8. Ajuste el nivel de grabacién.

Dependiendo de la fuente a graberse o de! equipo utilizado para
reproduccién, el balance del volumen de sonido entre los canales
izquierdo y derecho puede desplazarse a un lado, En este caso,
efectile el ajuste preciso con el control REC BALANCE,
Girando el control hacia la derecha se reducird el nivel del canal
derecho, y girandolo hacia la izquierda se reduciré el nivel del
canal derecho.
3, Presione el boton de pausa { 4) o el boton de reproduccion
{ > ) para inciar la grabacién,
Se encenderé (TAPE) del indicador de tuente de monitor, y se
apagara el de pausa.
Para detener temporalmente la grabacién
Presione el botén de pausa ( it).
®
Para reanudar la grabacion, presione de nuevo el botén de pausa
(H), o presione el botén de reproduccidn { » ).
Para detener la grabaci6n
Presione el boton de parada { m ).
AJUSTE DEL NIVEL DE GRABACION
Para ajustar el nivel de grabacion, observe Ia indicacion del medidor
de nivel y ajuste aproiadamente el contro! REC LEVEL.
Cuando se gira hacia fa derecha, e! nivel de grabacion se incrementa
y la indicacion de! medidor de nivel aumenta de forma consecuente.
Cuando se gira hacia fa izquierda, se reduce e! nivel de grabacion. Si
el nivel de grabacion es demasiado alto, la distorsién de la grabacion
se incrementa, y si el nivel es demasiado bajo, aumenta el ruido de
la cinta y el nivel del sonido es bajo.
Empleando
cintas normales
(TIPO I) o cintas de nivel
alto/cromo (TIPO Ii):
Ajuste el control de mode que se encienda "+2 dB" de vez en
cuando con las sefiales pico de entrada.
Empleaando cintas normales de metal (TIPO IV):
Ajuste ei control de modo que se encienda "+4 dB" de vez en
cuando con las sefales pico de entrada.
