CAUTION
Transport damage. Mechanical impact or stress during transportation of the joint such as shocks and vibrations
can lead to
• defects and result in malfunction of the joint;
• defects on the battery and hydraulic damper resulting in leakage of liquid; or
• loss of function due to structural failure.
This can cause the patient to fall as well as result in skin irritation.
Always use the transport packaging for transport.
CAUTION
Results of product deterioration. Wear and tear on system components can lead to malfunction of the joint. This
can cause the patient to fall.
In the interest of the prosthesis wearer (maintenance of operational safety and guaranty), the specified service inter-
vals must be complied with.
CAUTION
Using the tube adapter without calibration with 4X180=* C-Soft. If a tube adapter is used without subsequent
calibration of the joint with 4X180* C-Soft or Slider software, the damping behaviour of the joint cannot be properly
controlled. This can cause the patient to fall in certain cases.
When using a new tube adapter, calibration (zero setting) must be carried out with 4X180=* C-Soft or Slider soft-
ware.

WARNING
Risk of accident when driving a motor vehicle. The ability of leg prosthesis users to drive a motor vehicle is de-
termined on a case-by-case basis. Criteria include the type of fitting (amputation level, unilateral or bilateral, residual
limb conditions, design of the prosthesis) and the amputee's individual abilities. All persons are required to observe
their country's national and state driving laws when operating motor vehicles. For insurance purposes, drivers should
have their driving ability examined and approved by an authorized test centre. Ottobock recommend that the mo-
tor vehicle be professionally retrofitted to the user's individual needs (e.g. automatic shift). Risk-free driving must be
ensured even when the prosthesis is not functioning.
CAUTION
Distance to HF communication devices is too small (e.g. mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, WLAN devices)
Unexpected behaviour of the prosthesis due to interference with internal data communication. This can cause a fall in
certain situations.
Therefore, maintain the following minimum distance from these HF communication devices:
• Mobile phone GSM 850/GSM 900: 0.99m
• Mobile phone GSM 1800/GSM 1900/UMTS: 0.7m
• DECT cordless phones incl. base station: 0.35m
• WLAN (routers, access points,...): 0.22m
• Bluetooth devices (third-party products not approved by Ottobock): 0.22m
CAUTION
Magnetic interference fields. Wearing the joint in the vicinity of high-voltage lines, transmitters, transformers,
computer tomographs or other sources of strong electromagnetic radiation (e.g. retail security systems in department
stores or body scanners at airports) can result in malfunctions of the joint. This can cause the patient to fall.
Avoid remaining in the vicinity of sources of strong magnetic and electrical interference (e.g. transformer stations,
transmitters). If remaining in these areas cannot be avoided, make sure to at least walk/stand in a safe manner (e.g.
with a handrail or support from another person).
