When fitting the wiring harness additional parts (butt connectors 000 979 941) from the cable
Furthermore, four blue connector housings 1K8 972 928 B for left-hand drive vehicles or two
blue connector housings 1K8 972 928 B and two green connector housings 1K8 972 928 C for
Work to be carried out, general:
1. Disconnect the earth cable from the battery.
2. Fit the 1- and 4-wire wiring harnesses.
3. Coding, function test.
1. Disconnect the earth cable from the battery:
To avoid short-circuits during fitting and for safety reasons, the earth cable must, without exception,
be disconnected from the battery before starting work (risk of fire)!!
Disconnection of the battery can lead to a loss of stored data!
2. Fit the 1- and 4-wire wiring harnesses:
Detach the luggage compartment cover and the luggage compartment floor coverings and remove
the rear body panel trim.
Remove the rear seats rear seat backrests.
Remove the luggage compartment trim from the left and right-hand sides of the vehicle.
Remove the D-pillar moulding and roof console terminal strip from the left and right-hand sides of the
vehicle.
Remove all tailgate interior cladding.
Remove all four "Low" version tail lights. These can no longer be used on this vehicle after fitting
the 1- and 4-wire wiring harnesses!
Remove all of the access trims on the left.
