3.5 Specification of the semi-trailer skid plate
To prevent damage to the Fi h Wheel, the semi-trailer's skid plate
must have full support on the Fi h Wheel block. This ensures
uniform load distribu on, avoiding the concentra on of stress at
specific points which can accelerate wear and compromise the
structural integrity of the Fi h Wheel.

The skid plate of the semi-trailer must rest completely on the Fi h Wheel block, have a flat, smooth surface, no welded protrusions, with the front
and sides free of sharp edges.

When designing the semi-trailer's skid plate, the dimensions A and
B must be taken into account, as shown in the figure below, so that
they are larger than the surface of the block, guaranteeing complete
support of the skid plate on the Fi h Wheel.
