5.5 Manual adjustment of the locking mechanism
The clearance adjustment of the locking mechanism should be
checked periodically, according to the servicing table described in
chapter 8, or whenever the semi-trailer is changed. To carry out the
adjustment, proceed as follows:
• Loosen the nut (4) on the adjus ng screw (2), and loosen the
adjus ng screw un l it no longer touches the stop (5);
• Couple the Fi h Wheel;
• Lightly tap the handle rod (1) in the direc on (A) so that the locking
bar (3) reaches its final posi on;
• Keeping the handle (1) pushed in the direc on (B), ghten the
adjus ng screw (2) un l the handle (1) starts to move outwards;
• To set the recommended basic play of 0.3 mm, ghten the adjus ng
screw (2) by a further 1 turn and secure it with the locking nut (4);
• Couple the semi-trailer and check the locking system.

Note
If the play is sill high afer adjustment , it's recommended to check the
wear of the wear ring, locking jaw and King Pin (chapter 5.3).
