The display can show you the function
symbol! (pict. 7-14) in German
(column A) or international (column
B). To switch over, switch off the set
using the mains switch (24). Press
button «+» and «—» for volume -- on
the set and at the same time switch
on the set using the mains switch
(24)..Press volume buttons until the
display (23) lights up. Now, using the
remote control, you can switch to
German by pressing button «C» or to
international by pressing button «AV».
Afterwards the set has to be switched
off using button © so that the buttons
regain their original functions.
Connections
() Headphone socket
The headphone socket (33) is under
the flap on the top right of the set. To
open the flap press it on the right cor-
ner. You can plug in headphones with
a 63mm plug into the headphone
socket (min. impedance 200 Q). To
adjust the volume of the headphones
press button ef first then adjust to the
desired volume using the volume but-
TONS at «+» OF «—», This value will
also appear on the display (pict. 13).
If you want to be able to hear the
sound from the TV loudspeakers too,
button x has to be pressed again.

Loudspeaker sockets
Two additional loudspeakers (min.
impedance 8 Q) can be connected to
sockets (26) at the rear of the receiv-
er. The built-in set loudspeakers are
thereby automatically switched off.
o.0 Cassette recorder/HiFi
lf you would like to record TV sound
onto a tape or a cassette connect the
recorder to the two sockets (27) on
the back of the set.
lf you would like to reproduce the TV
sound via your HiFi you connect to
sockets (27). {f you want to switch off
the TV loudspeakers press button x .
When watching two sound pro-
grammes you can reproduce or
record sound 1, sound 2 or both at
the same time independently of the
TV loudspeakers via your HiFi. Switch-
ing over ts done as described in para-
graph "two sound programmes". You
can check with your headphones as
these are switched over in the same
way.
Connecting up a videorecorder
a) Connecting up via antenna
socket
You can connect your video recorder
to the TV antenna socket. To play-
back, store the channel number of the
video recorder on program 10, 20 or
30. Store as described in paragraphs
"Station Tuning" or "Direct channel
selection". The program places men-
tioned are specially intended for
video. You can find the channel num-
ber in your video operating instruc-
tions (usually channel 36).
You might need to use fine tuning to
adjust the TV to the recorder. Please
note that if you connect up in this way
a stereo recorder will only reproduce
mono.
b) Connecting up via the Euro AV
socket
For optimal reproduction and for ste-
reo reproduction you can connect
your videorecorder to the Euro AV
socket (29) on the rear of the set.
You'll be able to obtain a suitable
connecting cable from your dealer. If
you connect up in this way you
needn't do anything else to the TV
set, The TV will now switch automati-
cally from stand-by or from the pro-
gramme you're watching to video
playback as soon as you switch the
videorecorder to play. AU 1 will
appear on the display.
The TV will switch back to TV mode or
to stand-by when playback is switch-
ed off. You only need to operate the
video recorder and the TV will auto-
matically switch over. If you switch
over to TV mode when the recorder is
on playback, PE will appear on the
display instead of Pr. In this way you
are reminded that the recorder is on
playback. To switch back from TV to
video playback press button «AV».
(> Euro AV socket
The Euro AV socket (29) is a universal
connection for TV. accessories. It ena-
bles you to connect either directly or
with an adapter a videorecorder; a
home computer, Viewdata or other
future sets.

When a set is connected to this sock-
et, the TV automatically switches. over
to the set. If the set you connected
has no switching voltage you can
switch the TV to video by pressing
' button «AV» (AU 1 on the display). If
necessary you can then switch to
RGB mode using button «C» (Display:
A=
1) and back again to video mode.
