Stereo reception
lf a TV programme is transmitted in
stereo your set will switch automati-
cally to stereo. On the display the two
indicator lamps (20) and (21) will light
up green. If you switch over to mono
using. buttons «S» then the indicators
(20) and (21) light up yellow and you
will notice the difference in sound
immediately. By pressing button «S»
again you can switch back to stereo.
Balance
To adjust the balance exactly between
the two channels for stereo program-
mes switch the set to mono using but-
ton «S». Now press the preselection
button (3) for balance mwa first and
then using buttons (4) «+» and «—»
adjust the sound so that it seems to
be coming out of the middle of the
picture. Display: pict. 15 the left loud-
speaker is louder, pict. 16 balance is
in the middle position.
Then switch back to stereo using but-
ton «S».
Spatial sound .
By pressing button < the sound can
be given a spatial effect, this can be
done for mono programmes too. Two
dots appear on the display (19) and
(22). You can switch off this effect by
pressing the button again. The stereo
effect of stereo programmes is
enhanced through spatial sound.
lf you select spatial sound for a stereo
programme the you'll get all stereo
programmes in spatial sound. If you
select spatial sound for a mono pro-
gramme then you'll get all mono pro-
grammes in spatial sound.
Two sound programmes
With two sound programmes, two dif-
ferent sound information channels are
transmitted. Usually the original sound
and a translated synchronized version.
On your display (20) will light up for
sound one and (21) will light up for
sound two. By pressing «S» you-can
choose between the two channels.
Switching between sound 1 and sound
2 for the headphones and for the
sound outputs of the Euro AV socket
(29) on rear of set and the sound out-
put sockets (27) is done independ-
ently of the TV loudspeakers. When a
two sound programme is transmitted
you hear sound 1 on one side of the
headphones and sound 2 on the
other. To switch over, first press but-
ton « . You can then select the
sound you want using button «S>». If
you press button «S» once you hear
sound 1 on both sides. If you press
twice you hear sound 2. If you want to
hear the sound from the TV loud-
speakers then press button sq again.
In this way you can hear sound 1 over
the loudspeakers and sound 2 over
the headphones.
'Further possibilities
Adjusting the brightness of the
display
lf you want to adjust the brightness of
displays (19) — (23) press button
first and then set the brightness value
you desire using buttons «+» and «—»
for brightness 4%. On the display you
will see the value from 0~12 (pict. 14).
Then press button mj again to get the
sound back.
If you have darkened the display it will
change briefly to bright when you use
the remote control.
FURTHER _ POSSIBILITIES _
Adjusting basic setting
When you press button +i colour,
"brightness, contrast, volume, bass,
treble, balance, headphone volume
and disptay brightness are set to a
middie value. You can adjust this
basic setting. Adjust colour, bright-
ness, contrast etc. to suit your own
taste. Then press button «S» for about
4 seconds until ---- appears on the
display. Now when you press button
t+ you'll get your own basic setting.
{If you don't like your basic setting any
more simply press. button ~'+ for lon- |
ger than 8 seconds (the display chan-
ges from --~- to --). Your personal
setting has now been erased and you
have the original basic setting again.
Controls on the set
lf you have mislaid the remote control
or if the battery is empty you can
control all important functions on the
set. Open the flap on the top right of
the set by pressing the flap on the
right corner. There you can see some
buttons which have the same func-
tions.as those on the remote control:
