• WARNING! Immediately after switching it on, place the helicopter a flat and level surface. The gyro-
system will then set itself automatically.
• Slide the left joystick, thus the gas lever, completely up and down again into the zero position.
• Allow the helicopter a few moments until the system is correctly initialised and is ready for operation.
• The binding has now been successfully established.
• The LED on the controller now lights continuously.
Checklist for flight preparation
This checklist does not replace the contents of the operating instructions. Although it can be used as a quick-
start-guide we strongly advise to first read the operating instructions in detail before you proceed.
• Generally switch on the remote control first.
• Insert the battery in the designated holder at the helicopter´s bottom.
• Place the helicopter on a flat surface and wait a moment until the system is correctly initialised and is
ready for use.
• The LED in the helicopter now flashes in rhythmically-accelerating sequence.
• Push the left-hand joystick slowly and with care up to the top and down to the bottom twice to activate
the existing connection.
• The LED in the helicopter is now lit continuously.
• The helicopter is now ready to be flown.
• If the helicopter fails to display any function, connect the model with the controller as necessary, as
shown below.
• Manual start: Slide the gas lever to the lower left corner and the lever for forward / back simultaneously
into the right lower corner. The rotor blades slowly start to rotate. Then release the two levers again. To
take off, carefully push the gas lever upwards.
• Fly the model
• Land the model
• Take the LiPo battery out of the helicopter

Controlling the helicopter
In case you don´t know the control functions of your Carrera RC helicopter yet, please take
7
some minutes before the first flight in or to make yourself familiar with them. The descriptions
left or right refer to the view out of the cockpit (pilote´s view).
With the throttle being at minimum position and the trim of throttle in medium or lower position, the rotor
blades are not going to revolve.
Manual start: Slide the gas lever to the lower left corner and the lever for forward / back simultaneously
into the right lower corner. The rotor blades slowly start to rotate. Then release the two levers again. To
take off, carefully push the gas lever upwards.
Push the throttle up to increase the rotational speed of the main rotor blades. Increase the rotational speed of
the main rotor blades and the model will start to ascend.
If you push down the throttle and thus reduce the rotational speed of the main rotor blades the helicopter
will descend. When the model has lifted off the ground you can get it into stationary hovering without abrupt
ascending or descending by carefully moving the throttle upwards and downwards.
To land, push the gas lever all the way down. Hold the gas lever in the lower stop for 2 -3 seconds until the
rotor blades stop rotating.
Move the left lever (tail) to the left and the helicopter´s nose turns (yaws) round the main rotor´s axis in
8
a circle to the left. Move the left lever (tail) to the right and the helicopter´s nose turns (yaws) round the
main rotor´s axis in a circle to the right.
Use the trimmer for tail until you have reached a stable neutral position of the helicopter when hovering,
without moving the left lever (tail).
The forward-/backward lever controls the helicopter´s pitch forward and backward. When shifting the lever
9
forward the nose of the helicopter will move downwards and the helicopter will fly forward. When shifting
the forward-/backward lever backward the helicopter will move backwards and the helicopter will fly backward.
Use the timmer for forward-/backward in order to achieve a stable neutral position and to avoid that the helicopter
flies forward or backward when hovering without moving the forward-/backward lever.
When shifting the lever for right/left pitch to the left or right, the helicopter pitches to the left or to the right
10
and flies to the left and right respectively. Use the timmer for right/left pitch in order to achieve a stable
neutral position and to avoid that the helicopter will fly to the left or right when hovering without moving the lever
for right-/left pitch
After having made yourself familiar with the main control functions and having chosen an appropriate area for
flying the helicopter, you can start the first flight.
Choosing the flight area
The helicopter can only be flown outdoors when there is little or no wind. Please be aware that,
11
although it may be calm on the ground, it may still be very windy even a little way off the ground.
If this warning is disregarded, it may lead to total loss of the helicopter.
After having trimmed your helicopter for flight and having made yourself familiar with the con-
12
trolling and its functions you may start flying in smaller and less open environments.
Automatic control of altitude
The Helicopter will maintain the current flying altitude automatically as soon as you release the left-hand
13
joystick during the flight. The right-hand joystick can be used, without using the left-hand joystick, to fly
forwards/backwards or in a circle at the same flying height.
Auto-Start & Fly to ≈ 1 m
Press the 'Auto-start & fly to ≈1 m' button on the controller, in order to start the motors and automatical-
14
ly fly up to the altitude of about 1 m . You are able to influence the direction of flight at any time during
the starting operation by means of moving the right joystick. The helicopter will maintain itself in position au-
tomatically as soon as the altitude of about 1 m has been reached.
Auto Landing
You can trigger the automatic landing function at any time by means of pressing the 'Auto landing' but-
15
ton. The speed of the rotors will reduce gradually as a result. You are able to influence the landing posi-
tion at any time during the landing procedure by means of moving the right-hand joystick. The motor will
switch itself off as soon as the helicopter is on the ground.
Trimming the helicopter
Auto-trimming
16
1. Place the helicopter on a horizontal surface.
2. Link the helicopter with the controller as described in "Linking the model with the controller".
3. Slide the gas lever and the lever for forward / back simultaneously into the left lower corner.
The LED on the helicopter flashes on briefly and then lights up continuously. The signalling tone
will sound once.
4. The neutral setting is completed.
Should the helicopter move in a direction that is not desired, please use the trim buttons for fine adjust-
17
ment. These are located below or to the side of the control levers.
1. trim forward/backward
2. trim left/right
3. trim tail
