OPERATION
TIPS FOR MOWING THE LAWN
The equipment is designed for domestic use only.
Always wear appropriate footwear such as boots and long trousers whenever using the product. DO
NOT wear open footwear or shorts.
Check the work area before mowing and remove any objects such as stones, etc. that may be thrown
by the mower or that may damage the mower.
If the machine hits an object during mowing or if an object gets caught in the machine, stop it
immediately.
Allow the machine to stop and cool completely before inspecting it or removing any objects that may
be caught in it.
If the machine is damaged, have it inspected or repaired by the Authorised Service Centre before
using it again.
If you notice that the machine vibrates excessively during operation, this is an indication that the
machine is damaged or worn and we recommend that you take it to an authorised service centre for
inspection before using it again.
Avoid mowing wet grass. Clippings do not collect well and tend to stick to the side of the deck.
Avoid cutting grass too high. Mow in several passes, reducing the height of cut each time.
Do not use the equipment for purposes for which it was not designed, such as shredding leaves or
chipping wood.
Avoid working on slopes that are too steep. When mowing on a slope, mow from side to side, not
up and down.
Be careful when mowing in reverse or when pulling the equipment towards you and when changing
direction.
Stop the engine if the product must be tilted or moved over surfaces other than grass.
Be aware that mowing more than one-third the height of the lawn can affect the appearance of the
lawn, and that weeds can spread more easily on extremely short grass. A healthy lawn is achieved by
mowing regularly and not over-mowing.
When mowing, push the machine at a moderate pace so as not to force it, thus maintaining its
efficiency and consequently obtaining the best results.
Mow the lawn in slightly overlapping rows. An effective pattern is to mow in straight lines, starting
at the largest corner of the work area, then turning towards the end and mowing the next row and
so on. Following a regular pattern helps the end result to be sharper and reduces the chance of
uncut areas.
For lawn areas with trees or planters, we recommend that you cut 1-2 rows around the
circumference of these elements.
Empty the collection basket frequently. Some models may have a fill indicator to show you when it
needs to be emptied. This is usually a small lid on top of the collection basket that lifts up when the
basket is too full.
You need to always keep in mind that the longest part of the grass consists of a stem and one or
two blades.
If you cut the blades off completely, the grass will be damaged and new growth will be much more
difficult.
Excessive low-level mowing will cause root disturbance and consequently the appearance of the
lawn will be uneven.
During the summer, the lawn should be left medium high as it helps the soil not to dry out.
The lawn will look better if it is regularly mowed at the same height with alternating mowing directions.
