CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT

POTENTIAL HAZARD
• Engine must be running to make carburetor adjustments.
• When engine is running, saw chain are moving.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
• Contact with moving parts could cause serious personal injury or death.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
• Keep hands, feet and clothing away from moving parts.
• Keep all bystanders and pets away from unit while making carburetor adjustments.
• Idle speed adjustment should be checked each time the unit is operated.
kWARNING
• Wear the recommended personal protective equipment and observe all safety instructions.
Engine Idle Speed:
To adjust the engine idle speed, rotate the idle speed
adjuster screw on the carburetor.
• Turn the idle speed adjuster screw in (clockwise) to
increase the engine idle speed.
• Turn the idle speed adjuster screw out (counterclock-
wise) to decrease the engine idle speed.
Fuel mixtures adjust:
Do not adjust the carburetor unless necessary. To adjust
the carburetor proceed as follows.
1. Turn the low speed mixture adjuster (L) and high speed mixture adjuster (H) anticlockwise to stop.
2. Start engine and allow it to run at idle until warm.
3. Turn idle speed adjuster screw (T) anticlockwise until the saw chain stops moving.
4. Accelerate to full throttle to check for smooth transition from idle to full throttle.
5. Turn the low speed mixture adjuster (L) and high speed mixture adjuster (H) clockwise to adjust for smooth
transition from idle to full throttle.
• When starting, idle speed adjuster (T) should be adjusted not to rotate the saw chain.
• If idle speed adjustment is necessary, and after adjustment the engine stalls, stop using the
Chain saw immediately!
