6 Inserting scraper or lube unit
Before using the scraper or the lube unit, it must be greased on the inside. Only
use grease recommended by AVENTICS for this.

1. Guide the new scraper or lube unit over the piston rod up to the connection
thread.
2. Tighten the scraper or the lube unit with the specified tightening torque (see
g Table 2
and g Table 3).
Only for use with lube unit:
• Check the position of the lube nipple (see g Fig. 5).
• Unscrew it, using a suitable tool if necessary (see g Fig. 10) and position it at
one of the other 2 positions (1 A – C) to guarantee optimum use.
• Then close the other openings again with the cover screw.
3. Screw the nut onto the piston rod again.

7 Finishing the exchange
1. If necessary, assemble any removed mountings back onto the piston rod.
2. Apply pressure to the cylinder and supply voltage to the system component.
3. Extend the piston rod.
4. Fasten the load to the piston rod.
8 Relubricating the lube unit
When replacing the lube unit, it must be filled with the initial amount
of grease.
To maximize service life, refill the grease manually at recommended
intervals.
1. Only use grease recommended by AVENTICS (see
of
grease).
2. When re-lubricating, observe the maximum volume for greasing the lube unit
and take care not to exceed it (see g Table 2).
Proceed as follows:
1. Press the grease into the lube unit via the lube nipple using a grease cartridge.
2. As soon as grease escapes from the lube unit in the direction of the piston rod,
it is sufficiently filled.
3. Then stop adding grease.
4. Adjust the relubrication intervals to the ambient conditions of the system.
Recommendation:
Normal ambient conditions
Weekly cleaning of the cylinder / system
Daily cleaning of the cylinder / system
The lube unit is not suitable for mineral abrasion such as corundum or
grinding dust/chips (wet grinding)!
