Application
5.1
Positioning the Impression
▷ Trim all unnecessary parts of the impression
(palatal fold, palatal roof) in order to obtain a
dental arch that is as low as possible but suffi-
ciently stable.
Extremely viscous polyether compounds

(Impregum, Permadyne, etc.) can be
trimmed more easily with a heated blade.

▷ At the end of the carrier plate on a transverse
ridge, apply an approx. 2 × 2 cm cube of Giro-
form-Putty to the handle.

▷ Position the impression tray dorsally on the
transversal ridge and the cube.
▷ Insert the dovetail of the transparent alignment
plate - split noses pointing upwards - into the
groove of the support plate and guide it down-
wards.
▷ Press the impression tray onto the putty.

▷ Position the alignment plate with the split noses
facing upwards.
▷ Insert the dovetail into the guide of the carrier
plate and guide it downwards. Align the impres-
sion with the centre line, the occlusal plane and
the vestibular dimension of the future dental
arch in relation to the plate size.
