Dust Flaps

The dust flaps prevent the dust raised by the brooms from blowing out from under the rider sweeper. They must therefore be kept in peak condition and replaced

if they become worn or damaged.

Replacing the Flaps

Remove the flap retainer strap and bolts, then remove the worn or damaged flap.

Install a new flap and secure it in position with the same bolts. The side and rear flaps should ride at about 1/8" - 5/32" (3-4 mm) above floor level.

Panel Filter

The panel filter removes the dust from the air drawn through the rider sweeper. The filter must be checked and cleaned to maintain peak filtration efficiency.

NOTE: If dust starts blowing out from under the rider sweeper, the filter is dirty and must be cleaned.

Cleaning the Panel Filter

Pull lever 4, fig. 13 fully back to position V and hold it for about 10-15 seconds to operate the filter shaker 5. Repeat for 4 or 5 times in succession to clean the

filter thoroughly. The cleaning device strikes the filter to shake dust off it. Clean the filter more regularly in particularly dusty areas.

Caution !

Shut off the suction system by means of lever 4, fig. 13 when working on wet floors.

About once a month, remove the panel filter 1, fig. 13 and clean it with a jet of compressed air or a vacuum cleaner. Proceed as follows to remove the panel

filter:

Remove the debris hopper.

Remove the two wing nuts 2 and the filter bracket 3.

Remove the panel filter.
