Main Broom
The main broom sweeps dust and debris into the hopper at the rear of the rider sweeper.
Caution !
Never sweep up string, wire, etc., which can become entangled in the broom and damage the bristles.
Adjusting the Main Broom
The main broom is raised and lowered by lever 1, fig. 6. The main broom is mounted in a floating mechanism. The main broom should just touch the floor, leaving
a pattern 1-3/16" (3 cm) wide when it rotates (fig. 7). If the main broom leaves traces of dirt, it has worn down and must be lowered. Proceed as follows to lower
the main broom:

Loosen the lock nut 2, fig. 6.

Move stop plate 3, fig. 6 about 3/16" (5 mm) down.

Re-tighten lock nut 2.

Check the width of the broom pattern as shown in fig. 7.

Checking and Replacing the Primary Broom Drive Belt 5
Every 100-150 hours work, check the condition of the primary broom drive belt 5, fig. 6. Belt tension is maintained automatically by tensioner 4, fig. 6. If the
belt is visibly worn, pull it off the pulleys, remove it from the side of the rider sweeper, and fit a new belt.
