Last station memory function
This unit features a last station memory function which stores the sta-
tion which was heard before the power was switched off. This func-
tion serves to automatically receive the same station when the power
is switched on again.
CAUTION: A very carefully selected capacitor is adopted to the tuner
to back up the station memory
function.
Normally, this capacitor
preserves the memory for about 1 week (depending on the temperature
and humidity), but if power is not supplied to the unit for a longer peri-
ods of time than this, the preset stations will be erased.
In addition, last station memory will not work.
Switch on the tuner's power from time to time even if you do not listen
to the broadcast for a long time. This will serve to charge the capacitor
in a. short time and back up of the memory function will be continued.
Record play
. Depress the INPUT SELECTOR PHONO switch.
Set the CARTRIDGE switch to the position corresponding to the car-
tridge on the turntable.
Set to MM when you are using an MM or
other high-output (1 mV or more) cartridge; set to MC for an MC or
other low-output (less than 1 mV) cartridge.
3. Operate the turntable and play the record.
4. Adjust the volume, balance and tone to your preference.
Poor-quality record reproduction
When
you hear hum continuously,
check the grounding of your
turntable.
*
You may hear howling or acoustic feedback caused when the pick-
up of your turntable is affected by the vibrating sound waves from
the speakers, and undesired signals are amplified. to avoid howling,
move the turntable away from the speakers or install the turntable
on a solid, non-resonating stand.
*
When you hear the irritating noise during record palyback, it is sug-
gested that you check if there is dust accumulated on the surface
of the record and on stylus tip. The cause may be a worn stylus tip.
When you use a record cleaner, be sure to always use one of high
quality.
