CHARGING THE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
Charge the battery:
During initial commissioning.
If it was last used more than six months ago.
If the battery symbol appears on the display.
The battery also charges when height gauge HG1 is switched off.

1. The battery must be charged for at least 5 minutes before height gauge HG1 can be used.

The probe performs a reference point run in positive and negative directions.

MAKING BASIC SETTINGS
1. Tap "Settings (2.01)" on the menu bar.
2. In the "Settings" menu, tap "Other entries (2.02)".

The "Device settings" menu appears.
3. Set the language, time and date.
4. Select the timeframe for auto power off.
5. Select the timeframe for auto power off for the backlight.
6. Select the backlight brightness.
7. If required, activate password protection.
8. Once all settings have been defined, tap "Confirm action (2.12)" until the "Settings" menu closes.

The basic settings are now set.

MEASURE CONTACT POINT
1. Insert the measuring probe in the carrier.
2. Position the adjustment block on the measuring plate.
3. Tap "Measure contact point (2.05)" on the menu bar.
4. On the function button bar, tap the required measurement procedure (3.01–3.04).
5. Use the positioning handle to set the contact point to the height of the adjustment block.
6. Align the adjustment block with the contact point.

The measurement procedure is performed and visualised in the user interface.

The determined contact point constant is displayed in the upper display area.
