3) Open the bead loosener by hand by pushing it towards the outside.
Place the wheel up against the rubber wheel support (13, Fig. L).
Bring the blade (14, Fig. L) against the bead about 1 cm from the edge of
the rim (See Fig. N).
WARNING! Position the blade as to operate the side
of the tyre and not of the rim.
4) Push the blade (14, Fig. L) into the tyre by depressing pedal (3, Fig.
L).
Repeat this process at different points around the tyre and on both sides
until the beads are completely loosened.
WARNING: During bead breaking, care must be
taken not to deform the tyre too much as this
may damage it.
WARNING: To avoid the risk of damage to the valve
and the pressure sensor (if installed), only break the
bead with the valve and sensor at 90° to the bead
breaker pressure point (at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock).
Before proceeding with the bead breaking
procedure, it is essential to identify the type of
tyre being worked on (especially when working on
RUN FLAT, LOW PROFILE or UHP tyres).
The bead breaker arm of the TC 310 - Liga C 250 has 2 working positions
(see Fig. N/1 and N/2):
- the position shown in Fig. N/1 is recommended for working on wheels
with rims up to 10" wide;
- the position shown in Fig. N/2 is recommended for working on wheels
with rims more than 10" wide;
The angle of incidence of the bead breaker blade varies depending on the
position chosen.
To change from one working position to the other, proceed as follows:
- extract the peg (1).
- turn the blade by hand until the hole on the hub is in the other position;
- fit the peg (1) in the new position.
N.B.: The blade angle can also be increased by moving the rod to the right,
for easier bead breaking on small-diameter rims
WARNING: NEVER break the bead of rims less than
6" wide with the bead breaker arm in the "+10"
working position.
The optional stroke limiter (see Fig. N/3) is required for bead breaking
on RUN FLAT, LOW PROFILE and UHP tyres.
The device limits the "closure" of the bead breaker by different amounts
depending on the position of the pin (1, Fig. N/3):
- setting "0" : no limitations
