4.- PROCESS DESCRIPTION
The valve manifold will stay in the "close" position as long as the filtration pump/s stays still
as a result of selector 4 showing 0. Another reason may be the time clock giving no starting signal.
As soon as the PLC starts off the filtration pump/s, the valves of the manifold will turn to the
"filtration" position.
Valve nº 1 open (green light on).
Valve nº 2 closed (red light on).
Valve nº 3 closed (red light on).
Valve nº 4 open (green light on).
Valve nº 5* closed (red light on).
When all the valves are correctly positioned, the robot starts off the filtration pump/s and the
flocculant dosing pump/s.
The filter media (filter bed) creates thousands of channels through which the pool water
flows, dragging dirt and solid waste particles to the filter outlet. After some time, dirt and waste
particles make it more and more difficult for water to flow through the filter bed channels. As a
result, inlet and outlet pressures are different. The general filter pressure may also rise. In those
cases, the pressure controller sends a signal to the control box. If the signal stays for minimum 30
seconds, the manifold position turns to "backwash" after having stopped the filter pump/s. The
valves positions are then:
Valve nº1 closed (red light on).
Valve nº2 closed (green light on).
Valve nº3 closed (green light on).
Valve nº4 closed (red light on).
Valve nº5* closed (red light on)
