5.2.8 Footplate angle (option)
The footplate angle can be changed by adjusting the locking bushing (Fig. 47, item A) in the
slotted holes. Pull the release strap (Fig. 47, item B) to flip up the footplate.

5.3 Seating Shell Interfaces

Kimba seating shell interfaces (Fig. 48) serve as the basis for individual seating shell fittings.
They are available in various sizes and can include a footrest assembly.
Attachment to the seat adapters and the function and operation of the footrest assembly are
identical to those of the seating unit; please refer to section Kimba Multifunctional Seating Unit.

5.4 Accessories

CAUTION
All accessories not installed by the manufacturer must be installed by trained technicians. The following
notes on installation are listed here for technician use.
• Straps on accessories are usually extra long to accommodate most positions.
• Excess strap ends can be cut off, and the cut edge melted together with a flame (cigarette
lighter) in order to prevent fraying.

5.4.1 Roll Loops

To offer better strap positioning in the pelvic area, the Kimba seating unit is delivered with two
roll loops. Depending on individual requirements you can mount these roll loops on either side
in three different positions (Fig. 50).

5.4.2 Abductor

Place the abductor (Fig. 51) in the desired position, and affix it with screws from below.
When using a slipsack, also cut a slit at the appropriate location.
Models with depth adjustment can be adjusted in the slotted hole.
5.4.3 Armrests (no illustr.)
CAUTION
The armrests must not be used for lifting the seating unit or the rehab stroller/buggy. Armrests cannot
be combined with a "Grabrail" or a "Tray".
Snap the armrests into the retainers (Fig. 44) on the seating unit while simultaneously pressing
the spring knobs. To remove the armrests, press the spring knobs and pull the armrests upwards
off the retainers.
