Loosen the knurled nuts to adjust the supports to reduce or increase the free space for the body
and for height adjustment of the supports (Fig. 49). It is also possible to adjust the height of the
supports by loosening and shifting the Allen head screws (Fig. 71, item A). Finally, attach the
pads to the supports and close the hook & loop straps.
6 Using your Otto Bock product as a seat in motor vehicles
WARNING
The Otto Bock product Kimba Cross has not been approved by Otto Bock for use as a seat in
motor vehicles for the disabled!
Users of the product must always transfer to the seats installed in the motor vehicle with the
corresponding vehicle restraint systems!
Non-observance of these instructions could lead to injury of the user, as well as of all other pas-
sengers in the motor vehicle, in case of an accident�

7 Instructions for Maintenance and Cleaning
INfORMATION
We also recommend that you have the wheelchair maintained regularly at 12-month intervals by your
authorized specialist dealer.
• Check the function of the drum brakes on a regular basis and readjust them if necessary.
• Make sure the cables used to activate the drum brakes can move freely.
• Check the tightness of all screw connections on a regular basis.
• After any adjustments, snugly re-tighten the screws that have been loosened.
• We recommend that you have your Kimba Cross – when used on a normal basis – checked
once a year by a Rehabilitation Technology Specialist.
• Clean all frame components and plastic parts using mild detergents only.
• Padding sections can be washed at 40 °C. If washed in a washing machine, put them in a
linen bag or a pillow case. In most cases, wiping with a damp cloth is sufficient.
• Do not use your Kimba Cross in salt water, and keep sand or other particles from damaging
the wheel bearings.
