Color guide for light-intensity adjustment
Display the image whose printout quality you wish to adjust on the LCD of
the camera, and connect the camera to the station. Proceed with the menu
operation and display the COLOR GUIDE screen on the LCD of the
station. Choose DLGm, and press the EXEC button. The messages
"TRANSFERRING IMAGE..." and "DO NOT REMOVE CAMERA" are
displayed, and image-data transfer from the camera to the station starts.
The printing of the color guide for hue adjustment will be completed in
about two and a half minutes.
On the color guide for light-intensity adjustment (see the figures below),
the image with the current settings is located at the center, and surrounding
it six images, each with the value of one of three adjustment items DARK,
LIGHT, and GAMMA changed by ±3 from the current setting, are located.
Below each image, setting values for the three items are indicated. The
adjustable range is ±7.
Example of light-intensity adjustment
If the current menu settings for DARK, LIGHT, and GAMMA are (0, 0,
0), the setting values of the image at the center are (0, 0, 0).
One setting of each of the surrounding six images differs by ±3 from the
corresponding value at the center, as indicated in the figure on the left
below.
If the image with the settings (–3, 0, 0) is the closest to the image you
wish, but you wish to increase the contrast of the dark area a little bit, set
the values (–2, 0, 0) for example, with the menu operation and print a new
color guide.
This time, the setting of the center image is (–2, 0, 0) and those of the
surrounding images are the values changed by ±3 from this setting, as
shown in the figure on the right below. If there is an image with which
you are satisfied, set the values indicated for that. The adjustment is then
completed.
If there is no image with which you are satisfied, set new values and again
print a new color guide.
